Good morning, Sharks Families!!

First things first... CONGRATS ON ANOTHER WIN!  Our swimmers swam their hearts out on Saturday and came away with our 2nd win of the season.  Lots of fast swims and best times.  Please be sure to have your swimmers check their folders for a Personal Best ribbon.  These are given out after the 2nd meet and each meet thereafter to swimmers who improved their time in each event from the meet before.  There were also a few items left behind at the meet.  If you (or your swimmers) left clothing, towel or water bottle behind it may be found at the Lost and Found located in the pool club behind the front desk.

Next Dual Meet:  Our next dual meet is this coming Saturday against Holmdel.  Holmdel is the only team that has beaten us in recent memory so this will be a TOUGH ONE!  This is a MASSIVE team so we will need everyone's help to make this meet run smoothly.  We have almost 30 swimmers undeclared at this point.  PLEASE declare your swimmer ASAP.  We also have some jobs that need to be filled as well.  There is a SPECTATOR CHECK IN job that is specific ONLY to this meet because it is such a large visiting team.  The YMCA requires that ALL visitors have their identity verified before entering the premises so we will have a preregistration for our spectators.  We need a few parents to just help check people off of the list as they arrive.

Red, White, Blue Sprints:  If you signed up for the Red, White, Blue Sprints meet at Holmdel, this section is for you.  This should be a REALLY fun meet.  We will not be Sharks on that day, but mixed up with Holmdel and Marlboro to form 3 teams, Red, White and Blue.  Team assignments can be found HERE.  There is a prize for team spirit so be sure to dress in your team color and try to be as creative as possible!   I know I'm going to snag a couple of plain RED (both Midura kids are on team RED) caps from Amazon and maybe some fun red temporary tattoos or something.

Championships:  The meet signup for Championships is now open!  Please declare your swimmer as ATTENDING or NOT ATTENDING the appropriate meet for his/her age group.  This is a SUPER FUN event!  Don't worry about which events to register for yet... that will come later.  This meet does come with an extra fee.  Typically it has been $3 or $5 dollars per individual event.  Relays will be paid for by the Y because the coaches will form those teams.  We will need to provide Timers and Marshallers for that meet.  Job signups are open!!

Team Suits:  Sigh...  I am absolutely trying my best to get those suits into your hands, Sharks.  I call Sport Spot every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and I stop in frequently to check up on the situation.  I know it is frustrating.  I am waiting or my own kids' suits as well.  I will let you know as soon as they are ready for pickup.

Spiritwear:  I have a few Spiritwear orders that have not been picked up.  I also have a few Team Tshirts that have not been picked up!  If you did not receive either your Spiritwear Order or your swimmer's blue tie-dyed team tshirt please see a parent rep at practice.

With a couple of Dual Meets under your belt, please let us know if you have any questions at all.  Swimming seems so easy to understand from the outside but there can be little nuances that seem confusing.  We would be more than happy to explain anything you'd like!
