SILLY OLYMPICS

Silly Olympics is scheduled to take place on Wednesday!  We will have the 8U and 13O groups mixed and competing from 4:45-6:15.  The 9-10 and 11-12 groups will mix and compete from 6:15-7:45.  This is going to be a FUN event with prizes, ice pops and LOTS of laughter!

CHAMPIONSHIPS

All championships entries and monies are due by WEDNESDAYTHIS IS A HARD DEADLINE!  Please see a parent rep at practice if you have any questions.  Here is the information for Championships:

Saturday July 20th @ Hazlet Swim Club: ALL 10U SWIMMERS & 11/12 GIRLS

Sunday July 21st @ Candlewood Swim Club: ALL 13O SWIMMERS & 11/12 BOYS

  • The championship meet absolutely is for EVERYONE. This is a really fun meet in which ALL of the teams will swim!
  • Medals will be awarded for 1st-8th place, then special championship ribbons for 9th-16th place. There are also heat winner ribbons... IN GOLD
  • You can enter up to three individual events and two relays. Go to the RSVP page, select the correct session (see above) and then “attending this meet”. Then put a check mark next to the events they would like to swim. If the system won’t let you select an event that your swimmer wants to swim it is because they either have not yet swum it in a dual meet this season or they were DQ'd when they did swim that event. They must have a LEGAL TIME for the stroke in order to swim it in Championships.
  • There will be a freestyle relay (everyone swims freestyle) and a medley relay (everyone swims a different stroke). Please note: 8U will only swim freestyle relays. For age group 9/10s and older - the system will default you to both relays. If your swimmer only wants to swim in one relay please just put that in the “Notes to the Coach” in that form.
  • There is an entry fee for each event of $5 per event. Entry fees must be paid in cash or check made out to cash. You can either hand your payment directly to a parent rep or put it in the black SHARKS lockbox. The SHARKS lockbox will be brought out to the table under the big tree every day during practice. If leaving in the lockbox, please place it in an envelope indicating from whom it is.
  • We will do our best to get every entered swimmer in a relay. If we do not get a number of relay entries that are multiple of 4 - we will attempt to recruit additional relay swimmers. In the event that your swimmer does not swim in a relay you will receive a refund for that relay entry fee (this is why CASH or CHECK TO CASH is so important).
  • Bring a canopy, chair, snacks... whatever you think you might need.  It is a LONG morning!

SECRET PROJECT

There is still time to contribute!  You can leave your "Love Notes" in the Parent Reps folder in the mailboxes but please only hand your donation to a parent rep in person! See my previous separate email for more information!

PERSONAL BEST RIBBONS

Don't forget to have your swimmer check his/her mailbox after each meet for Personal Best ribbons!  We constantly tell our swimmers that they are racing against themselves.  PB ribbons are a celebration of growth in this sport!
