IT'S MEET DAY, AGAIN!!

Good morning, Sharks Families!

IT'S MEET DAY!!!  Please arrive at the Holmdel Pool Club (21 Bailey lane, Holmdel, NJ) no later than 4:30PM. All swimmers should check in with coaches upon arrival.  Warmups for our team will begin PROMPTLY at 4:45 and the meet will begin at 5:25.

The Holmdel swim team is massive... they have 100 more swimmers than we do!  This makes managing the space a little more difficult.  Please keep swimmers close to the Sharks area to avoid missing races!

What to do when you arrive:

1st- CHECK IN WITH YOUR COACH!!! If your swimmer does not have his/her name written on his/her arm send back to coach!!). IF YOU ARE VOLUNTEERING CHECK IN WITH NICOLE OR SHERRILL.

No worries if you're a first time volunteer. We will give you all the information needed!  WE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR A BACKUP TIMER!  Volunteers for this first meet are:

2nd-  Get yourself settled and send your swimmer (with a Sharpie... see below) to find the HEAT SHEETS. These are papers that have the EVENTS, HEATS AND LANES in which your swimmer will be competing. See the photo attached for instructions on writing on your arm!
3rd- Keep an ear out for the call to warm up (also for the timers meeting if you are timing).
BE AWARE!!! 10 and unders will be marshalled (this means a coach will gather them together before their events, put them in their correct order and physically walk them over to their lanes). 11 and overs will be expected to pay attention to the meet and get themselves to their appropriate lane in plenty of time to compete. 
At AWAY meets, you will be able to identify our Sharks Area by the popup tent with our Shark Tank banner hanging from one side.  Swimmers SHOULD NOT be in the other pool areas or the playground :-)
You SHOULD be able to see into which events your swimmer is entered in the Swimtopia app or on the Sharks Swimtopia Website

website.   You can mark your swimmers with their event, heat and lane before arriving at the pool.

THEY SHOULD STILL DOUBLE CHECK THEIR HEAT AND LANE FROM A COACH AT CHECK IN!!

Sometimes we have to make last minute changes. 

What to bring:
** A SHARPIE!! Your swimmer will use it to write his or her events on him/her self:-)
** chairs, blankets... somewhere comfortable to sit for a couple of hours
**WATER!!!
** Snacks: the best snacks during meets are protein based... nuts and cheese, and fruit. Have your swimmer snack soon after swimming in a race to give the food a chance to settle before the next race.
** sunblock
** sweats. Even in the summer, it can get cool pretty quickly.
** extra cap and goggles JUST IN CASE!!

IMPORTANT EXTRAS
*** SHHHHH!!!!!  We are collecting for our annual coaches' gift!  The amount that your family donates is 100% up to you.  We have 10 amazing coaches this year who dedicate so much time, love and attention  to your swimmers... half of them are volunteers!  You can give cash, check made payable to cash or Venmo Nicole (@nmidura).  Just make sure you note that the Venmo is for the coaches' gift!
*** If you haven't already, PLEASE SHARPIE HIS OR HER NAME ON YOUR SWIMMER'S TEAM TSHIRT!  I have found that inside the back, bottom hem is the best spot to do this :-)
