In this email, you will find details for upcoming important events.  

MAKE-UP MEET

We do not have specifics for our makeup meet with Monmouth Heights just yet.  There is a strong possibility that the meet will take place on Monday and will be either at Freehold or at the Camp Zehnder Y pool in Wall Township (very easy to get to).  Keep an eye out for a Remind confirming!

SILLY OLYMPICS 

Tonight is our annual Silly Olympics!  Please note the change in practice times.  Our team is broken into 10 and Under and 11 and Over swimmers.  Each group will have a 90 minute Silly Olympics session tonight.  Attendance is not mandatory, but the event has been a super fun one in the past!  10 and Under session is from 4:45-6:15.  The 11 and Over session will be from 6:15-7:45.  No extra gear or team suit is required :-)

CHAMPIONSHIPS

Both championships meets are open and available for registration!  Champs works a little differently... your swimmer gets to choose in which events he or she would like to swim.  There is a $5 entry fee to participate and then each event and relay is $5.  You may select up to 3 individual events and 2 relays for your swimmer.  There is no TIME requirement for the championship, your swimmer must have a legal time (not a DQ) during the season. For example: right now, Brody has tried the Breaststroke at 2 meets but has gotten DQ'd both times.  He cannot choose that event for champs.  He can swim the FREE and BACK and the FREE RELAY.  That would be 3X$5 plus the $5 entry fee.  My total entry fee for Brody will be $20. ALL ENTRY FEES MUST BE PAID BY CASH, CHECK MADE PAYABLE TO CASH OR VENMO.  Entries are due Monday, July 21st!!  Please see a parent rep at practice today or Monday if you have any questions.  This is a FAST turnaround!  If paying by Venmo, please note that the payment is for CHAMPIONSHIPS!  

SUMMER LEAGUE A PALOOZA TRI-MEET

You can now declare your swimmer for the Summer League a Palooza swim meet!!  This will be a fun Y of the Jersey Shore summer league teams meet.  It can also serve as an unofficial tryout for the "Big Team" if your swimmer is interested in year-round club swimming.  There is a $5 entry fee for the meet but that is all... nothing more per event :-)  This meet will take place at the YMCA's Camp Zehnder Pool in Wall, NJ.  Warmups will begin at 5:00PM!  More details will follow!

COACHES' GIFT

There is still time to contribute to our coaches gift fund.  We have 10 amazing coaches who work so hard with your children.  This is your chance to say Thank You!  The amount of your gift is completely at your discretion.  You can give cash or Venmo.  If paying by Venmo, please note that the payment is for THE COACHES GIFT!  You can also have your swimmer prepare a special note or card for any/all coaches with whom he or she has grown especially close and we can tuck it into his or her gift bag :-)
