This is a VERY important email. PLEASE READ TO THE END!!!

Week 2 starts today and we have some exciting events coming up! Our Mock Meets will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.  

MONDAY- PRACTICE

TUESDAY- 10U (that means 10 and Under/Younger) Mock Meet.  NO PRACTICE FOR THE 11 AND OVER SWIMMERS!!!

WEDNESDAY- 11O (that means 11 and Over/Older) Mock Meet. NO PRACTICE FOR THE 10 AND UNDER SWIMMERS!!!

THURSDAY- PRACTICE

FRIDAY- Team T-Shirt Tie Dye (OPTIONAL!!!)

PLEASE be sure to sign up for the REMIND by texting the word @fhsharks26 to the number 81010. If you've never used REMIND, you send a text message just like you would send a text message to a friend. The number to text to is 81010. The message you should send is @fhsharks26. Please see one of the parent reps for assistance if you are not sure how to do this. Registering for REMIND in this way will have ALL Sharks alerts sent to your phone as a standard text message. If we have to call practice (that means cancel or cut short) we will do that through the REMIND.

PLEASE DECLARE FOR THE MOCK MEETS!!!

We still have about 25 swimmers not committed for our 10 and Under Mock Meet and more than that on the 11O meet. That means you have not marked on the Swimtopia Website or App whether or not your swimmer will be attending. How do you do this? Here are the 2 ways... WITH PICTURES!

On the app- MAKE SURE YOU ARE LOGGED IN and here are the steps:

JOB NEEDS:  Nearly all jobs are filled for the mocks.  We could just use 2 more marshallers for the 10 and Under meet.  That just means you have a copy of the heat sheets (list of races) and you help gather the swimmers and get them in order for their race and walk them over to the pool.

Please arrive on time for the Mock Meets... no later than 4:45PM. Coaches are going to treat this just like a regular meet. There will be swimmer check in, a starter, marshalling... PLUS our coaches will demo how a race in a meet works! They will give them some race etiquette and you and your swimmers will get to see the coaches show off their skills! Should be a really great, informative time.

In the event of Thunderstorms, we will try to make up the affected Mock Meet. Fingers crossed that we make it through both!

TIE-DYE EVENT

Since our team t-shirt is white, we are going to have a little tie-dye "party" on Friday of this week.  After each practice (EXCEPT FOR 13 AND OVERS... 13 AND OVERS CAN COME BEFORE THEIR PRACTICE TIME TO TIE DYE) swimmers will have the opportunity to tie-dye their team t-shirt.  Parent Reps will be on hand to assist, but parents are also welcome to come and help out.  Parent Rep Alison is the tie-dye master so don't worry if you're unsure about how tie-dye works :-)

TEAM SUIT

If you haven't called Sport Spot to order your custom Team Suit, there MAY still be time. Give Gloria a call at (732) 747-0585 Your swimmer MUST wear a red suit to our meets. If you have to get a suit anyway, you might as well get the custom team suit! 

ALSO...

Please remember that (aside from Sharks practice) the Swim Club is still closed this week. That means the super cute froggy pool, volleyball court, gaga pit are all off limits. Your swimmer may only swim in the pool during their assigned practice time. If you are members, when the club opens next week, you have access to the rest of the facility as well :-)

PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE YMCA CHILD CARE PICKUP/DROPOFF AREA!! This can great a dangerous situation with our families with littles. Please park ONLY in parking spots in the parking lot and NOT along the curb. ALSO... The area painted with yellow stripes IS A WALKING PATH! Please do not park there!

If you have not picked up your team t-shirt, don't forget to see a Parent Rep at practice.

If you have not yet dropped off your WORKBOND CHECK please do so ASAP. Your swimmer may be excluded from meets if this is not completed. Please bring a $50 check made payable to cash (or actual cash works, too) to practices and give to a parent rep.
